The 2005 version of this film is superior to 1971s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Need I say more? I love Gene Wilder just as much as the next guy, but Roald Dahl didn't even want him to play Wonka! Also they changed the title from 'Charlie' to 'Willy Wonka' because Quaker Oats, who owned the Wonka brand at the time, wanted the Wonka name and brand to get out there so they could sell more candy! It was a big sellout advertisement for a candy and brand that doesn't exist anymore because of capitalizm and should havethe BEST candy in the world! I stand by this.

No way, the 2005 version is great for it's own reasons but the 1971 version is simply classic!
